Bluecid Diver I
11.5 x 15”
mixed media on paper.

During my residency at Vermont Studio Centre, I was inspired by the surrounding frozen landscape of the Gihon River, located in Johnson, Vermont. I created a series of paintings in which describe my own sensory experience of the environment. Through watery blues, smoky grays, and salted lilacs, I evoke a queer emotional renaissance in my work. This painting series is my own visceral interpretation of the Vermont terrain, comprised from the culmination of fragmented experiences, and queer memories.
